Oscar loves going to the pet store. He knows the route we take to get there and where to turn and which of the 4 storefronts it is. He loves to sniff around and usually the person working there gives me a treat or two in return for a trick. On the way home he likes to walk on the same side that I carry the bag containing his food so he can be as close to it as possible.
Every once in a while he’ll ask for something specific at the pet store. Once, while walking down a row of dog treats, he stopped to sniff a bag of dried salmon dog treats. He then swatted the bag a couple times with his paw until it fell off the shelf. I thought it was pretty cute so I bough the bag of treats for him.
He did this the other day too. He was sniffing around but stopped by a display of antlers that make good chew toys (according to the marketing). Boy was he interested in them, more so than any other smell in the store, so I bought him one. It was fun to treat him to something he picked out himself.
