I took Oscar for a nice long walk the other night. Truth is, I haven’t been taking good care of myself lately and taking Oscar for a walk allowed me to get some exercise and fresh air. More so than the fresh air and exercise, I got another little reminder about the value of perspective.
I noticed this woman ahead of us who kept glancing back to look at Oscar. We ended up catching up to her and passing her.(Oscar loves to pass people. Really, he does. He gives me dirty looks when people pass us.) Then, Oscar stopped to pee and she stopped and asked if she could pet him. She gave him some pets and scratches and told me, “I always wanted one of these Boston Terriers. You are are do luck to have him.” She said that three times, “You’re so lucky to have him” and I thought, you know what? You’re right. I’m very luck to have him.
